BROWN HORNET

VS.

WONDER TWINS

THE SETUP

Zan and Jayna aren't two separate threats. They're one power set split across two bodies, and it only works at all if they can reach each other. A fist bump and a spoken word away from becoming almost anything, water in any form for Zan, any animal for Jayna, they're two teenagers who solve problems by changing what they are, the same way Marcus does. The difference is that his version never depends on someone else being close enough to touch.

That single detail turns this fight into something other than a straight power contest. Beat them individually and there's still a second one coming. Cut the connection between them instead, and the whole engine stalls out.

TALE OF THE TAPE

BROWN HORNET

VS

WONDER TWINS

Strength

Superhuman, precision-calibrated

Variable, depends entirely on Jayna's chosen animal form

Mobility

True flight, erratic evasion

Zan's water and vapor forms, Jayna's flight or speed depending on form

Senses

Motion and vibration-based (270° awareness, Vibration Sense)

No enhanced senses individually, but a shared telepathic link

Signature Edge

Chemical Tracking, Adaptive Shapeshifting, Creation, Tweeterbell

Combined range of any animal and any state of water, coordinated as a pair

Known Vulnerability

Tracking two independent, unpredictable attackers at once strains even 270° awareness

Reactivating or changing forms requires physical contact and a spoken phrase between them

HOW THE FIGHT PLAYS OUT

Round 01

TWO FRONTS

Jayna comes in low and fast as a hawk, talons first, while Zan spreads into a rolling bank of fog behind her to close off the retreat. Panoramic Threat Perception was built to read a wide field, and it holds up, tracking both moving fronts at once instead of locking onto just one. It isn't comfortable, but nothing gets through clean.

Round 02

LISTENING THROUGH THE FOG

Zan's fog swallows sightlines fast, but fog still moves air, and Vibration Sense reads the faint pressure shifting through it the same way it reads footsteps through concrete. Marcus keeps a rough sense of where Zan is even blind, while Chemical Tracking locks onto Jayna's exact position by scent no matter what animal she's wearing.

Round 03

CUTTING THE LINK

Marcus catches what actually matters here: neither twin can shift again without reaching the other and saying the words out loud first. As Jayna banks around for a second pass and Zan's fog starts drawing back in toward her, Tweeterbell rapid-hardens a thin resin wall directly between them, precise rather than massive, just enough to block the one thing their whole power set actually needs.

Round 04

LOCKED IN FORM

It works exactly as intended. Zan is stuck mid-fog, unable to pull back into anything solid without Jayna's touch, and Jayna is stuck as a hawk, unable to become anything bigger or stronger without his. Marcus doesn't need overwhelming force from here. He just needs to close two fights that can no longer escalate, and he does, wrapping up both twins before either one can circle back into contact.

THE VERDICT

WINWon by cutting the link

A win for Marcus, and a clean one, decided by recognizing the actual mechanic behind the power instead of trying to out-muscle two shapeshifters at once. Tweeterbell's wall isn't the biggest construct he's ever built. It's the most precisely aimed.

What This Fight Reveals

Kid Flash proved Marcus's real strength was knowing which sense to trust. This fight proves the same instinct works on offense, not just defense. Zan and Jayna have a genuinely dangerous combined power set, but every power runs on rules, and the fastest way through an opponent who can become anything is finding the one condition their whole ability actually depends on.
