BROWN HORNET

VS.

GREEN LANTERN (TAI PHAM)

THE SETUP

Tai Pham didn't ask for a power ring. It found him after his grandmother passed away, the same way the Nexus Cuff found Marcus after Elijah decided the time had come to pass it on. Two teenagers, two inherited legacies, two mentors who aren't around to guide every step anymore. This fight is less about who's stronger and more about who's further along in learning to carry the weight they were handed.

TALE OF THE TAPE

BROWN HORNET

VS

GREEN LANTERN (TAI PHAM)

Strength

Superhuman, precision-calibrated

Ring-generated, scales with willpower and imagination

Mobility

True flight, erratic evasion

Ring-powered flight, still developing full control

Senses

Motion and vibration-based (270° awareness, Vibration Sense)

No enhanced senses, relies on the ring's warnings and his own instinct

Signature Edge

Chemical Tracking, Adaptive Shapeshifting, Tweeterbell

Hard-light willpower constructs, limited only by imagination

Known Vulnerability

A construct-based opponent can answer Tweeterbell's own constructs in real time

Constructs waver when doubt creeps in, since the ring runs on confidence as much as skill

HOW THE FIGHT PLAYS OUT

Round 01

TWO KINDS OF CONSTRUCT

Tai opens with a wide hard-light barrier, testing what Marcus does with an opponent whose whole kit is built the same way his is. Tweeterbell answers in kind, shaping a quick bio-construct brace to hold against it, and for a moment the fight looks like two builders comparing notes more than two combatants trading blows.

Round 02

THE WAVER

Under real pressure, Tai's inexperience shows. A construct meant to hold solid flickers at exactly the wrong second, and Chemical Tracking catches the spike of doubt behind it before Marcus even sees the light bend. He presses the opening.

Round 03

STEADYING THE RING

Tai doesn't panic. He stops trying to build something big and impressive and narrows his focus down to something small and precise instead, a simple binding construct meant to hold rather than impress. It works exactly as intended, catching Marcus clean. Rather than break it by force, Marcus loosens his own form through Adaptive Shapeshifting, working free of the binding instead of fighting past it outright.

Round 04

MUTUAL RESPECT

Marcus feels the fight shift the moment Tai steadies. This isn't a kid flailing anymore, it's someone actively working through fear in real time and coming out the other side of it mid-fight. Marcus eases off rather than press an advantage against someone visibly growing in front of him, and Tai, having already proven he can hold his ground, doesn't push for a finish either.

THE VERDICT

DRAWEnded in mutual respect

A draw, and one that means something. Neither hero walks away having beaten the other. They walk away recognizing a version of themselves still figuring out how to wear a legacy that isn't finished teaching them yet.

What This Fight Reveals

This is the fight that reflects Marcus's own story back at him more directly than any other in the series. Both heroes inherited something powerful from someone who couldn't stay to guide them through every step of it. Confidence, not raw power, decided almost every exchange, and that's a lesson Marcus recognizes because it's the same one he's still learning about the Cuff.
